Cut ‘n’ Sew: Yves Saint Laurent Challenge

November 10, 10 am

Cut ‘n’ Sew is a heart thumping fashion throw down that pits Denver’s best and most innovative designers against one and other to see who rules the runway. Designers work against the clock to create the hottest look to be worn by models who will stomp it out live on the runway. This installment of Cut ‘n’ Sew is themed the Yves Saint Laurent Challenge and will be Hosted by Fallene Wells of this Season’s Project Runway. Designers must design one garment inspired by legendary YSL designs, style and aesthetics in advance of the Denver Art Museum’s exhibition Yves Saint Laurent: The Retrospective, opening March 25, 2012. The four local designers – Melissa May, Trisha Hoke, and Rachel Marie Hurst – will pick out fabric in advance, and on the day of the show will have four hours to create an outfit. Designers starts at 10 am and the fashion show begins at 2 pm. Models will walk down a runway on the 16th street mall. Winners will be chosen by a panel of celebrity judges and one audience favorite.
